♦ They were likely pretty slow as they had very stout legs to support their heavy frame.

It is believed that the triceratops was one of the last dinosaurs lefts standing. It lived at the end of the Cretaceous period and only slightly before the meteor impact that caused their extinction. The meteor is only a theory however, but provides the best known cause of death to all dinosaurs. The meteor itself did not kill the dinosaurs, but the clouds it created cut off the sun and killed all vegetation. This led to the starvation of the triceratops and other dinosaurs.
Triceratops bones are incredibly valuable. Their skeletons were one of the most durable and most resilient to erosion, so more lasted than with other dinosaurs. In 2008 a wealthy dinosaur fan purchased cliff, a triceratops skeleton, for 1 million dollars and donated it to the Boston Museum of Science.
