John Lasseter has confirmed that Toy Story 4 is definitely happening and will arrive in 2014. He has also confirmed that he will direct it.
John Lasseter also directed the very first Toy Story and is the co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios.
Iger said about John, “John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it’s great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties”
They discussed their love for the Toy Story franchise and talked about the ending to Toy Story 3. Lasseter confirmed with the LA Times that the new Toy Story 4 is going to be a “Love Story”.
He made it a point to talk about Toy Story 4 not being a cash grab. They love these characters and really have a great idea for the 4th installment.
The last time Lasseter directed was in 2011 for Cars 2. He is also attached to directing the Cars 3 sequel.
