How You Can Help Cool Facts For Kids!
Below I have included 5 ways you can help us out! But first, let me tell you how this site started and why we do it!
My name is Brooks, I have a daughter named Cailyn who is 9 years old. I’m married and I also have a 6 year old son and an 11 month old son. I have been into web development for a little while, mostly just as a hobby. My daughter expressed some interest and wanted me to show her how to make a website.
I asked her what she wanted to write about. She said she wanted to write about fun and interesting things. But also she wanted to do something that would help other children. So, I proposed making a fact site specifically for kids. Something free, that kids could utilize to learn fun and interesting facts about almost everything.
This site started as a pet project for my daughter, but has taken off more than I expected it to. We get quite a bit of traffic, mostly from search engines but also from schools utilizing our info! You should have seen the look on my daughters face the first time we saw that a school linked to our site. She was ecstatic! Not only was she helping me write about cool and fun stuff, but she was helping someone out!
The website taking off has presented some unique problems for us to solve. My hosting was not nearly enough to handle the traffic that started showing up. The costs to host the site definitely went up. Once we realized we were being utilized by other people, our standard for quality jumped up too. We spend lots of time on each article searching and making sure the info we provide is accurate and helpful. My daughter has learned SO much, and we are hoping she has helped others learn a lot too. How can you help us? It’s actually really easy, check out the ways you can do it below!
1. Donate
I almost hate to post something like this. But I didn’t think the upkeep for the site would get this pricey. But if you enjoyed our site and were able to utilize it, we would sure appreciate a donation! The site is free, and always will be. No matter what we will always find a way to keep it that way, but if you could spare anything that would be helpful! It’s super easy, just move the slider below and click donate. You can donate as little as $1 or as much as $250. Thank you so much for your consideration! No money, NO PROBLEM! Check out the next way you can help us out!
