This colorful 100 piece wooden train set and table includes an airport, runway and helipad. It also comes with a hospital and ambulance. It’s actually pretty big and has plenty of space for multiple kids to play, you can see the dimensions on the comparison chart above.
It’s a nice set that is actually pretty easy to put together. This set is compatible with Thomas & Friends and Brio wooden train sets.
It has a very sturdy build and comes with some storage bins to keep all the pieces underneath.
If your child likes airports and airplanes, this is probably the wooden train table for them!

If you know anything about Melissa and Doug toys, you know they have very high quality toys. This train table is no exception.
This train table is going to cost you less than $100, but there is one problem, it doesn’t come with a train. But, you have options to buy trains separately, which I will go over below in a bit. If your looking for hands down the best table by itself on the list, then this is it. But you will need to buy a train separately.
It’s made of superior build and will hold up to any toddler crawling all over it. The activity table has a nice pull out drawer for additional storage. This table not only is built well, it’s easy on the eyes and goes with any rooms decor.
You can use this as an art table, train table, block building table, puzzle table and many other things. It’s pretty easy to set up and get’s really good overall reviews on Amazon. Most people have nothing but great things to say about the train table.

This train table has one of the more nice finishes. The outside of it has more of a nice dresser look than a child’s train table. One of it’s defining features is the two tier interactive bridge.
It has a solid wood frame that should hold up to your child climbing all over it. There is a large trundle that pulls out for convenient storage.
The train table consists of an airport and helipad with a mountain that has a drive thru through tunnel. It contains over 100 pieces and assembly was actually pretty easy with multiple people.
The train table is made from birch wood, plastic and medium density fiberboard. It’s made to stand at just the right height for children, making it very easy to play with,

KidKraft Lego Compatible 2 in 1 Train Table Set
This is the only train table that comes LEGO ready and that makes it the number one pick for some people. It comes with a yellow, green, blue and red pad that you can add legos to. It also has a train table top, so you can switch it out and turn it from a LEGO building center to a train table.
This is also made by KidKraft, so it’s sturdy and is pretty easy to build. This is one of the smaller models of train tables, so it may not be best for multiple kids. But the price does reflect the smaller table, being one of the sub $100 train tables.
I can’t think of too may kids out there that aren’t already LEGO ready, but this table does come with a 200 piece building set.

This is the first non KidKraft train table on the list. It’s actually the highest rated train table over at Amazon, people really rave about it. It did not seem like it was the one we were looking for, but it might be the right train table for you.
One of the things most reviewers really seem to like about it is that it’s all connected. This can be a pro or con when it comes to train tables, but if your looking for less of a mess, this might be the one your looking for.
It’s very sturdy and people seem to like how it fits in with their decor. This train table does convert to an activity table, which is pretty nice. Since the train pieces don’t come off, they just flip and make a hard surface so activities can happen. The photo I included is of the activity side, not train table.

Alright, back to the KidKraft train tables. This train table takes the prehistoric theme and introduces dinosaurs. If your child likes dinosaurs this may be the obvious choice for you.
The train cars can pass through a plastic molded volcano from 6 different sides. It has wooden cavemen and cavewomen. There are lots of complaints in the comments of the tracks not staying together well and the overall build being a little cheap. This is a bit surprising since it’s made by KidKraft, but for some reason it doesn’t seem to hold the same standards as the other wooden train tables.
There is a neat dinosaur moving crane and a prehistoric police and fire station. It comes with a 95 piece train set that winds around the entire table.
Honestly, based on the reviews, unless your child is way into dinosaurs, it seems there are better quality tables by KidKraft. I would go with any of the ones listed above!

Here is another KidKraft train table that really has more of the same, just different design options. This train table comes with a 3 piece train, 4 cars, 2 airplanes, 2 trams cars and a helicopter.
It comes with a total of 100 pieces and has some neat track shapes to make a neat spiral train track.
Beware though, there are quite a few reviews that advise they like the train table but it seems to be poorly made. This is one of only 2 KidKraft train tables that seem to have bad remarks about it’s build quality.
The wooden train table does get some good reviews and may be worth taking a shot at. But, unless it has a feature you just can’t live without, there are definitely better options above!

Alright, moving away from KidKraft again. This is a Conductor Carl train table and playboard set. Just being honest, I’m not really familiar with Conductor Carl and it’s toys.
This train set does come with a free Conductor Carl train that goes on the train table. It’s an 80 piece set that seems to come with the standard type of train pieces.
It’s another train table that is sub $100, but people are raving about the build quality. Most people say it’s affordable but not cheap, which is a huge pro for a lower priced train table.

Disney’s Cars and Radiator Springs just seems like the perfect set up for a pretty neat Train Table. KikKraft definitely took advantage of this and made one.
If your child enjoyed the movie Cars or Cars 2, this is going to be a fun wooden train table set. The pieces look a lot like the characters from the movies and the table seems to be a pretty high quality build.

It comes with 90 pieces and a couple of storage bins to keep everything organized.

Hopefully I can save you a little time and make assembling your KidKraft train table a little more simple. Check out the tips below!
- Make sure that you use a power drill. It’s not necessary, but it will make your life much easier. Make sure that you do NOT over drill any screws. It’s easy to do and they strip, making them worthless. The drill saves you a lot of time, but be careful!
- Plan to do it with at least 2 adults. This will make the assembly incredibly easier. Like I said in my video, it’s more than possible to
pull this off yourself, but you will appreciate a little help. - Do not assemble with your child around. It will be almost impossible to complete this assembly with your toddler trying to play with every piece along the way. Not to mention, it’s a good way for pieces to get lost. Try to sneak away if you can, to assemble the train table.
- If you hate the mess of all the pieces, consider gluing them down. We decided not to do this, as our child loves to change the
configuration of the train when he plays with it. But, this will save a lot of pieces all over the house and their room. It will also be ready to go when they decide to play with it. Typically, we need to take the time to assemble the track before we can even begin to play with it. - Leave yourself plenty of time, play some music and have some fun. Try not to build the table under stress, this just makes you want to yell at your wife and kick your dog (I’m only kidding, I would never do those things,) But I’m sure you know how “assembling’ things makes you feel.
