Best Tablets For Kids Under $100

Alright, let’s get started!

Dragon Touch Y88X 7 Inch

Dragon Touch best tablet under 100This is actually a really nice tablet. This one falls in the “real” tablet and not just one designed for kids. This tablet would be good not only for a young child, but probably for a teenager as well.

This is actually a pretty powerful tablet for the money you are paying. It’s a quad core tablet with with 8 GB of storage capacity and 512mb of RAM for multitasking performance. It has a 7 inch screen and all though it’s not HD resolution, it’s very good. It has a sharp screen with bright and vibrant colors.

This tablet runs on the Android operating system that has access to thousands of free games and apps both for entertainment and learning. It has a front and rear facing camera for taking photos and videos.  It also has wifi so you can connect at home on your wifi network or at any hotspot.

This is one of the best tablets for kids under $100 that is out right now. You could even make the argument that it’s the best overall tablet under $100.

Orbo Jr. 7 Inch Tablet

Orbo Jr tablet for kids under 100Here is another tablet that is more of a regular tablet, but this one has more of a kids look and is more durable due to the case that comes with it. It comes in blue, pink or red colors as well. So it’s pretty kid ready right out of the box with no additional covers or cases needed.

This tablet is a little less powerful than the Dragon, so this may be for a little younger audience, probably 10 and younger. It is also based on the Android operating system so you have access to the same free games and apps to download as the dragon above.

This tablet is a little more light weight and better designed for smaller hands, so that is definitely something to consider. It also has a camera for taking photos, but only has 4GB of storage but that can be expanded with a Micro SD slot if you choose. This is also a great option but probably more for younger kids.

LeapFrog LeapPad Best tablets for kids under 100 leapfrog leappad2

Here is an example of a tablet that is only for kids. This tablet does not have access to the features that and Android based tablet would have. This is designed specifically for kids by leapfrog. You do have access to their library of children’s apps and it comes preloaded with 9 already which is enough to keep most kids entertained for a long time. It will also play any LeapFrog games you already have in the cartridge form.

I would say this tablet is designed for kids under the age of 5 or so. It does have front and rear cameras and has 4 GB of storage. It’s abut the same price as the other tablets, but can do much less. One of the big upsides is that it’s child safe and ready to go out of the box. No need to mess with parental controls or anything, they can only access children’s content. There is no internet browser or anything like that.

This is not ran on batteries, you can plug it in to charge which is huge. Usually these more child designed tablets run on batteries. It actually has a great 9 hours of battery life once fully charged, so for long car trips your in pretty good shape. They are also made well so they can take a beating from kids.

There are a couple different options here, you can buy the green or pink which come in around $60, or you can get the Doc Mcstuffins version for right under $100.

iRulu Y1 Kids Tablet

kids tablets under 100 iruluThis is actually a really good tablet, it is lower on the list because it’s a little more expensive than the others. But for some of it’s features it might be worth it.

This is a 7 inch tablet that runs on a dual core processor with 512mb of RAM. Even though it’s not a quad core I think it’s unlikely that your child is really going to max out those capabilities. It runs on the Android operating system so you have access to many free games and apps. It does have a camera and has 8GB of storage.

One thing that really stands out about this tablet is how shock proof it is right out of the box. It also has outstanding parental controls so you can really control this tablet. These are the two areas where this tablet really earns its spot on this list. It also looks pretty cool, it comes in green and pink.

Vtech Inno Tab 3 Plus Learning Tablet

tablets under 100 for kids vtech inno tab 3 pinkThis is definitely not a real tablet, I suggest one like this if your child has little to no experience using a table and is under the age of 5. This is a great first tablet for kids that aren’t looking for the type of features that your phone would have. It’s not Android based so you only have access to Vtech’s library of Apps.

One of the biggest cons to this tablet is that it’s run on batteries when used away from it’s AC adapter. It does come with rechargeable batteries, so that is a plus and you can play it at home with it’s AC adapter.

It does come with 10 great apps preloaded on the tablet, which provides a lot of entertainment and learning for your child. It does have a camera for taking photos and videos and has expandable storage via a Micro SD slot.

This tablet comes in both blue and pink for a boy or a girl. Its very durable and definitely made for kids. They won’t be able to access anything that you don’t want t hem to access.
