Yes, they are at that age where they are starting to want their own private time. They listen to music, watch TV and browse the internet at an alarming rate. The tablets these days are almost as powerful as small laptops and can do all these different things at the same time if it is needed. Tablets area  product that I thought would never catch fire. I figured they weren’t quite a laptop and were too big to be a phone, but did what both of those did. But I was dead wrong, tablets are all the craze right now and almost every teen wants to get their hands on one. They range in price and quality, I’m going to go over a few options you have available to you today!

• iPad Air 2

The iPad Air 2 is probably the highest quality tablet on the market right now, but you will also be paying the highest prices for it. If your child or you use iPhone this will likely be the tablet you want to go with. It uses a similar operating system so the interface will be very familiar.  It comes in a few different storage sizes 16, 64, and 128 GB worth of storage. Every model goes  up in price with more storage. The screen size is 9.7 and is truly beautiful in all it’s HD glory. The colors are vibrant and it really brings media to life.

You can choose to go with a wifi only model that will hook up to your in home wifi connection or other hotspots. Or you can get a model that is compatible with one of the major cellular carriers to sign up for a data plan. This will grant data usage available to wherever that cellulars coverage area is. The wifi only model is a little bit cheaper as you will pay a little more for the option of getting data on the tablet. There is a similar model called the iPad mini that boasts a 7.9 inch screen but the other specifications are mostly the same.

• Samsung Galaxy Tab S

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is definitely the biggest competitor to the iPad air. It’s android based, so if you or your child have an android based phone this tablet will be more familiar. The screen comes in different sizes you have a 10.5, and 8.4 inch. The HD screen on the Tab S is also beautiful as it displays HD bright colors. One of the biggest reasons people go with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is the difference in price you can get a similar tablet for hundreds of dollars cheaper than the iPad air. It only comes with a 32GB model, but has the ability to expand it’s memory up to 128GB with a micro SD slot. A 64GB micro SD slot is about $30, so you get a lot more memory for much cheaper than the iPad air, even if it’s by purchasing a separate memory card. • Dragon Touch Tablet

If your in the market on a tight budget, then the Dragon Touch might be the tablet your looking for. This tablet is ran on the Android operating system and actual performs pretty well. It comes in two different screen sizes 10.1 inch and 7 inch. The biggest selling point here is the price. You can get a 10.1 inch for around $100 and a 7 inch right around $50. It blows the competition out of the water from a price perspective. Where it lags a bit is in storage. They do have an 8gb and 16gb option but no micro SD expansion, so that’s as much as you can fit on these. This can be a bit of a hassle requiring you to unload media onto a PC or portable hard drive more frequently.  It’s performance is not quite as strong as the other two, but it is a dual core and will be able to handle most day to day type stuff with ease. Whether it’s for a boy or a girl, an electric scooter is a really cool gift idea. These things range from lower powered for young kids all the way up to powerful and speedy for older kids to adults. Razor makes a really neat line of different powered electric scooters. The one I have been looking at is the E300 and has a 24V battery that can reach speeds of 15 MPH (pretty fast on a scooter). The battery is weather protected and can get wet without damage. It runs for about 45 minutes fully charged at full power, a little bit longer as the batter starts to drain.
