I’m sure many of you have heard about the Bermuda Triangle mystery! Today I’m going to share with you some Bermuda Triangle facts for kids. A quick disclaimer however, many of these “facts” are based on claims and theories and even though I’m using the word fact here, much of this is not proven but speculation. The Bermuda Triangle is a very mysterious and unusual place. There has been reports of many different types of ships and planes that have gone missing. If you take a straight line and draw it from the tip of Florida to Bermuda then from Bermuda to Puerto Rico, then from Puerto Rico back to Florida you get a Triangle. This is what makes up the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Today we are going to go over some fun facts about the Bermuda Triangle!

I’m going to answer a few simple questions about the Bermuda Triangle before we actually get into the interesting facts about it. Let’s take a moment and learn where and what the Bermuda Triangle is!

The area that covers the Bermuda Triangle has had many unexplained disappearances over the years. It is said that more than 50 ships and 20 planes have all went missing in this same area.  There are many wild theories and some that are more logical. One of the logical theories is that these disappearances have happened due to weather, strong currents and inexperience pilots. It also is the deepest space in the Atlantic Ocean, which would explain why some things are hard to recover or find.

Some of the more wild theories say that UFO and Alien activity are to blame for these strange disappearances. Many people believe that these planes and ships aren’t missing, but were abducted by aliens. There are other theories that the Bermuda Triangle contains vortexes that can teleport planes and ships to different times and areas.

Although some of these theories are a little on the wild side, we must consider everything possible until its proven otherwise. I encourage you to learn as much as you can about the Bermuda Triangle and form your own opinion on what you think is happening there!

If you were to grab a map and look at Florida. The very southern tip, and you took a pen and drew a straight line from Florida to Bermuda then down to Puerto Rico then back to Florida you would have a Triangle. This is where things start to get interesting. Let’s take a look at some amazing facts about the Bermuda Triangle. Again, a lot of these are theories and not facts based on peoples beliefs.

♦ One of the more infamous reported disappearances is flight 19. On December 5th 1945 five Avenger bombers from the US Navy when missing while participating in a routine training mission. Charles Taylor, the Lieutenant  who was leading the flight, stayed in contact via radio until he could not be heard anymore. They sent out a rescue plane, which also ended up mysteriously vanishing. Did all 6 of these experienced Navy pilots crash into the ocean? Or did facts about bermuda triangle flight 19 avenger bomberssomething more mysterious happen here?

♦ While some people may be scared of it, the Bermuda Triangle is actually a part of the ocean that is frequented by cruise ships and other leisure boats and planes.

♦ Stories about the Bermuda Triangle started around 1950 and have continued ever since.

♦ Some supernatural explanations of Bermuda Triangle are as follows. Vortexes that transport to a different time and place, UFO’s and Aliens and even the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.

♦ There are other explanations as well, they include; magnetic anomalies, human error, large waves, rough weather, gas deposits, hurricanes, deliberate sinkings and pirates.

♦ The USS Cyclops and it’s crew of 309 people is said to have went missing after leaving Barbados in 1918.

♦ A Douglas DC-3 went missing in 1958. It had 32 people and none of them or the aircraft was ever found.

♦ There was a Yacht that went missing in 1955 that had survived 3 hurricanes, but when found everything was there except it’s crew.

♦ There was a rumor that insurance companies charged more when shipping across the Bermuda Triangle, this is not true.

The Bermuda Triangle is certainly a mystery that is yet to be 100% solved. Sure, it’s more likely that bad weather, inexperience and other natural phenomenon are to blame for the missing planes and ships. But what if there is more going on there than meets the eye. What if there is a vortex sucking everything under and spitting it out at a different time and place. Is it so impossible that UFO’s like to scout these particular areas for potential abductees? No one knows, and that’s what makes it so special. It’s entirely for you to decide, don’t let anyone tell you what to think, make your own informed decision.
